Why Use a Whole House Fan?
Simply put, nothing cools more cost effectively and consistently than a whole house fan. You’ll immediately see and feel the difference in your home:
Quick, efficient cooling of the entire house
Dramatically fresher air throughout the home
Overall cooler house and attic throughout the entire day
Extremely quiet fan to avoid disruption of the household
Greatly reduced cooling costs as compared to air conditioning
How Does it Work? When it’s cooler outside than it is in your house, a whole house fan can really go to work for you. Mounted in the attic and vented into the living spaces, it can be turned on to pull the cooler outdoor air into your home through your windows, throughout your living space, into the attic, and then out the attic vents.
So you don’t just cool recirculated air in the house as with traditional air conditioning. You actually replace stale, hot inside air with cool, fresh outside air. Over and over. This helps cool the home and attic by up to 30 degrees, and sometimes more, allowing them to stay much cooler the following day (the principle of Thermal Mass Cooling). So overall costs to keep the home cool are dramatically reduced, especially as compared to air conditioning.
